Standard Chartered names GCNA private banking head
Peter Tung leads team of relationship managers to grow private banking business in region

Standard Chartered has appointed Peter Tung as regional head, private banking, Greater China and North Asia (GCNA).

Based in Hong Kong, Tung is responsible for leading the team of relationship managers to grow the private banking business in the GCNA region. He reports to Mary Huen, chief executive officer of Hong Kong, and Raymond Ang, global head of private and affluent clients. Tung also becomes a member of the Hong Kong management committee.

Tung has close to 30 years of experience managing ultra-high-net-worth clients and family offices in Hong Kong and mainland China. He led teams to grow the private wealth management business at Morgan Stanley covering UHNW and family office clients, and the “Billionaire” coverage teams as UHNW region head of Greater China at UBS.

Tung joins Standard Chartered from DBS Hong Kong, where he was head of Greater China region private bank and treasures private clients.

He has an economics degree from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA in corporate finance from the Columbia Business School.
